Traditionally, this is one of the busiest weekends of the summer season and all week long we have been receiving deliveries. The Nursery is stocked to the gills with a great selection of plants, shrubs and trees. So whatever you are looking for, come on in this Saturday and browse every nook and cranny of the Nursery with the members of the Lewisboro Garden Club to find some of the best of natures offerings.

The Lewisboro Garden club is also sponsoring a bake sale on Saturday. Homemade pies, cakes, cookies and other tempting treats will be on sale. One of the great services that the Lewisboro Garden Club provides to the community is the “Golden Roads” program. This program, which has been a great success for the past 5 years, encourages homeowners and businesses to line their properties with daffodils. The Garden Club also coordinates mass plantings of daffodils along public roadways and this year they will plant thousands of plants. You can help support the Golden Roads program, and help beautify our town roads. Just ask any of the Lewisboro Garden Club folks for more information.

Remember, candy is dandy, but Plants have zero calories! So come and find the perfect plant for Mom and bring her home some of the best organic and freshest food in Lewisboro.

But, first things first: We have news! Opening day is Monday, March 25th and for the last week in March the Nursery will be open from 10am till 3pm Monday through Friday. Once April hits and the weather gets a bit warmer, the Nursery will be opened its normal 9am till 5 pm hours.

Also, joining our masonry department is Tom Gluck. His expertise in creating and renovating patios, pools, and natural fieldstone walls (among other things!) combined with his experience as masonry wholesaler make Tom an exciting addition to our Gossett Brothers team. Tom and his family are also local homeowners, which gives him unique insight into what our customers are looking for when it comes to top-quality, professional masonry work.

First, the Pansies are in! Not many, but enough to give you a few garden goosebumps. Second, the Hyacinth’s have bloomed and along with the pansies, the greenhouse looks and smells amazing. Lastly, the unplanted fall bulbs are 75% off this Saturday (March 2nd). Our fresh herbs are in and they are on sale also. Normally the herbs are $4.25 each, but you can get them on sale this Saturday (March 2nd) for the special price of 3 for $11.

The Nursery is not open 7 days a week yet, but we are close. The plants have been ordered and as soon as those delivery trucks arrive and the plants set up, we are ready to go. Keep an eye here on the website for all the latest information.

The holiday season is upon us and Gossett Nursery is celebrating this most wonderful time of year with all kinds of goodies for your home and garden. You will find everything from Christmas trees to custom wresths, from Santa on Saturdays to the North Pole, which you and your family can climb and leave letters for Santa.

 The Nursery yard is full of green as Fraser Firs have taken over the parking lot. The perennials are tucked away for the winter and in there place you will find wreaths both plain and decorated in sizes from 12 to 36 inches. Swags, greens, roping, and other holiday decorations are all lined up and are ready for your home.

Besides being known for our top quality Fraser fir christmas trees, people love our custom, hand made wreaths that are being created as you read this. Want something completely unique hanging on your door? Then stop by the nursery, pick out the size wreath you are looking for and then come inside and pick out all the amazing decorations and style of bows you want on your wreath. Every kind of decorated wreath, from bare bones to elegantly extravagant, can be created and the only limit is your imagination.

You can wait for your custom wreath to be created or come on back when it is done. In a rush or cant decide what you want on your wreath? Just pick a custom made wreath from the many hanging all around the nursery. Every decorated wreath you see at the nursery started as a plain one and was decorated by our amazing staff with all the experience, care and pride that gives Santa's elves a run for their money. Try getting that service from the mall!

We also have Christmas decorations, lights and one of a kind gifts from the antique shop in every price range. Come climb the North Pole and leave you letters for Santa. You can see Santa yourself on Saturdays from 10 am till 4 pm. The North Pole is open 7 days a week and, along with Santa, makes a great photo oppertunity for your holiday photo album.

Electricity has returned to the Nursery, so if you do come to shop at the Farmers Market (9am till 1pm) today, bring you cell phone. We set up a few power strips and you can recharge your phone while you shop. According to an update from NYSEG, just about all of South Salem should be back on the electrical grid by Sunday night.

You can save 50% on perennials this week. We would rather sell them then store them, so stop by this week and save a few bucks. In a week or two, those plants will be off the shelves and tucked away for the winter.

Take a look at the specials list below to see everything that is on sale. Halloween decorations are 25% off and that is good on halloween items from Cottage Antiques as well. Pumpkins and gourds are 25% off all this week. So if you haven't picked up your carving, sugar or speciality pumpkin yet, now is a great time to do that and save some cash.

Trees and shrubs in containers are also 50% off and you still have a month or so to get them into the ground. If you are looking for something a bit bigger, all the ball and burlap trees and shrubs are 30% off. The nights are starting to get a bit cooler, so be sure to pickup some firewood.

The nursery has also made some arrangements and a cornucopia for the upcoming LVAC silent auction.
